Hey there @Carlos4ever!

Thanks for reaching out here on the Forums!

Are you trying to use a minute card or simply re-fill your account with it?

You can go here to check the minutes remaining on a card.

If you wish to utilize the card to refill your GoPhone balance you can do so using one of the many methods detailed on this awesome article!

I hope you find that helpful, have a super day!

Greetings @LaLisa_0323!

Sorry for the trouble you had with that store machine! I’m glad they have the refund processing for you!

The refund should process within 24-48 hours, however it can still take up to 5 business days to appear on your account information.

Don’t hesitate to let us know if you still don’t receive any update by that time, we’re happy to help out!

Why I need to pay my fees, even I did not use anything?(2 dollar plan/day)

Hi,

I changed my phone plan from 40 dollar/month to 2 dollar/day, because I am not in U.S. right now. And the AT&T empolyee told me if I don't want to pay too much fees, I can just choose 2 dollar/day plan. This plan only deduct when you call or text someone. But the problem is I never call or text someone during June to Angust. And I checked my gophone account, it shows my account expires and the balance is 0. I am not really understand why I need to pay and why my money disappear?

Best,

Krystal

That is because money you put on your account expires if not used. Refill cards have varying expiration dates. $10 to $24 refill cards expire in 30 days, $25 to $99 cards expire in 90 days, and cards worth $100 or more expire in 1 year.

You have to pay to keep the account and number.  No carrier will keep your account and number without some payment.  (For example, consumer cellular has a $10 per 30 day whether you use it or not.  Changing plans to a pay per use rather than $45 for 30 days saves you money.

Many use the $100 to hold the account a year.

Switch from AT&T Go to 2 year contract without credit

I'm 18 and I use AT&T Go because I'm too young to have credit. I have now had the service for 6 months and I was wondering if I'm able to switch to a 2 year contract without actually having credit. I was told once that it was possible, however I've ever heard anything about it elsewhere. I've kept up with payments through my Go service.

You mean switch to postpaid service as there are no 2 year contracts any more. Yes, you may be able to switch without credit but most likely will have to pay a deposit which could be quite high.

Next is not a service plan, it is just a plan for buying a phone in monthly installments. Some people think of Next as a 2 year contract but it's not. It is really a 0% interest loan for the phone and as you would expect on any loan, you do have to repay it. The service plans are called Mobile Share and they are non-contract plans. Now if you are asking can you buy a phone on the Next plan but still stay on prepaid, no. Next is only for customers on a postpaid service plan.

Hello there @volkynevolky!

My apologies for the confusion! Indeed there should not be any disparity between these two messages!

If you dial *777*3# you should be able to request the balance that way as well!

Just weighing the two you’ve received already, I would lean towards the website amount, as free messages can sometimes be sent out erroneously (Though this is very rare).

Let us know if there is still no consistence between the star code above and the website, we would be more than happy to investigate this further! Have an amazing day, and thanks for reaching out!

Are they allowing people to use their minute balance to cover any differences in price for the upgraded phone?  I just called 866-650-1836 and was told no.  Can anyone confirm?  Thank you in advance.

Hi @mretyme!

Welcome to the AT&T Community Forums! I am sorry to hear that your phone was stolen and I will be glad to help you out. If the phone is an Android, you may be able to trace it through Google Android Device Manager.

Android Device Manager is a Google’s official and easy-to-use tool to track your Android phone or tablet. The best thing about it is that you don’t need to install an app to be able to track your devices. The only requirement is that your device is connected to your Google account, turned on and connected to the internet. All you need to do is visit the Android Device Manager while being logged into your Google Account. Once the site is loaded it will automatically try to track down your phone. If you have several Android devices registered, make sure the right one is chosen in the dropdown menu.

Are you not able to locate your phone this way? This can happen for several reasons. The one you should hope for, is that your device is simply not connected to the internet or turned off. In that case, simply keep trying to track it until it (hopefully) connects to Google’s services again.

The fact that the phone was stolen, it’s possible that the thief has disconnected your device from your Google Account. If that happens, neither Android Device Manager nor any other tracking tool will be able to locate the device, since it’s necessary to be logged into your Google Account.

Before suspending service, learn ways to possibly find your stolen phone by clicking here.

GoPhone $5 international 250 minutes - expires?

$

I have a GoPhone on the $2 daily plan. If I buy the 250 minutes of international calling for $5, can I use the 250 minutes until I run out, or does it expire the next day like the $1 data package.

Thanks... but the page you linked says nothing about the $5 8nternational package, so I'm a little confused. More so because that page says this:

6Requires separate purchase of data package, which expires 30 days after purchase or when 100MB of data is used, whichever comes first.

And that is simply not true. When you buy the 100mb data for a dollar it clearly and unequivocally states in multiple places that it expires at midnight CST the day after purchase.  I didn't realize that until after I'd signed up because I based my choice on the page you linked which I've quoted. I thought I could pay $1 for 100mb and use all 100mb over the course of a few weeks. Now I find out I lose whatever's left if I don't use all 100mb in one day, and have to pay again the next day.

https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/plans/voice/sku4940399.html

"...purchase a 100MB for $1 Day Data Pass Package available. Package expires at midnight CT on day after purchase."

Two different explanation of the same plan. Naturally, the one where your data expires the next day is how it actually works.  I don't know why the incorrect information is on the other page, but it's definitely wrong and misleading.

So I'm leery of paying $5 for 250 minutes of international because it's definitely not worth it if I have to use all 250 minutes in one day or lose the remaining minutes.
