Middle of the night go phone notifications

I have a go phone and have signed up for automatic renewals, which is attached to my credit card. This is so my bill will be paid automatically every month without my having to think about it.

 

However, ATT INSISTS on texting me 6 times each month regarding the refil.

 

A text to tell me they are about to charge my credit card.

A text to tell me they charged my credit card.

A text to tell me that they renewed my plan.

A text to tell me they charged me taxes.

A text to tell me they were about to update my international plan.

A text to tell me they did update my international plan.

 

This is annoying as it is, but even worse, sometimes these texts come in at 1:30am, causing me to wake up in a panic, thinking that someone I actually care about is having an emergency (because that is the only reason to text someone at 1:30am!!!). I asked ATT customer service if they could stop these annoying texts, and they said that was impossible. Is that really true?

 

These texts should be optional, or at least reduced to ones that are actually needed. I do not need a text telling me that I need to refill my account if I have it set up to automatically do that. This is ridiculous. At the very least, send them during business hours when people are less likely to be trying to sleep.
